Puri/Balasore: The flood situation in several parts of Odisha continues to remain grim. Though the water level of major rivers has resided, water logging is still prevalent in many parts of the State.

According to sources, Nimapada in Puri district is waterlogged due to the flood water from Dhanua River. As many as 13 panchayats under Nimapada block and six panchayats under Gop block are reportedly waterlogged due to excess flooding in the river.

Even though the administration has provided motor boats for communication purpose, thousands of villagers are still stranded, locals alleged.

Besides, several villages under Kanas block in Puri district still remained cut off due to flooding in Daya River.

The situation is nothing different at some villages under Remuna block in Balasore district. Sans proper drainage system, the flood water is yet to reside from Kathasangada village, alleged locals

The flood water from Sona and Budhabalanga rivers had entered three villages under Mandarpur panchayat last week. Though the water drained out from the other two villages, Kathasangada village is still waterlogged, locals alleged.
