Nabarangpur: With the detection of new COVID-19 cases, Nabarangpur district administration on Saturday decided to clamp shutdown restrictions for two days from August 25.

“In view of the requests from senior citizens on account of Ganesh Chaturthi today and Nuakhai tomorrow, we have not ordered shutdown today. But keeping in view the rising COVID-19 graph, we will enforce shutdown on August 25 and 26,” informed Nabarangpur Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra.

He further said that the shutdown restrictions will come into effect from 7 PM of August 24 and will continue till August 27 morning. "This shutdown will be helpful in carrying out an intense contact tracing of the positive patients and swab collection for appropriate testing," Mishra added.

It is pertinent to mention here that 43 new COVID-19 cases were reported from Nabarangpur district on Saturday. With this, the total COVID-19 tally in the district has reached 811.

As per the information shared on the official twitter handle of Nabarangpur Collector, the total number of active cases in the district now stands at 325.
