Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Friday fixed the prices of RT-PCR test, the confirmatory test for COVID-19, at maximum of Rs 2,200 per test. As per a notification issued by Health and Family Welfare Department, the COVID-19 test can only be done by several ICMR approved private laboratories.

As per official sources, private individuals, who want to undertake a COVID-19 test, can get the tests done at the following four approved lab-

-Department of Lab Services (Apollo Hospitals) Bhubaneswar
- IMS & SUM hospital, Bhubaneswar
-InDNA Life Sciences Pvt Ltd (2nd floor, KIIT TBI, Bhubaneswar)
-GenX Diagnostics (Sahid Nagar), Bhubaneswar

Earlier, Odisha government had announced to set up a plasma bank to provide plasma therapy to COVID-19 patients. Informing the development, Health Minister Naba Das had informed that the plasma bank will be set up in the State and the treatment will initially be available in four hospitals of the State.

As per reports, the treatment will be introduced initially in Ashwini Hospital & SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and SUM and KIMS hospitals in Bhubaneswar.

Odisha has also decided to constitute a technical committee to outline the treatment plan for plasma therapy and prepare a blueprint for its successful introduction in the State. The committee will create awareness among people regarding the plasma therapy and submit a detailed report to the government, informed Das.
