Cuttack: As many as 66 more COVID-19 positive cases were detected from two major hospitals—Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC) and SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, confirmed district administration officials on Thursday.

As per district administration officials, as many as 55 more positive cases were reported from AHRCC while 11 cases were detected from SCB.

Earlier on July 29, four patients, one attendant and a staff of an Aahar centre inside the AHRCC had tested positive for COVID-19. The detection of these six cases came a day after two nurses had tested positives.

Both the nurses had come in contact with a cancer patient from Ganjam district who had tested positive for COVID-19 on June 24. The patient was reportedly admitted to the emergency ward of AHRCC on June 19.

It is pertinent to mention here that there has been a spurt in the number of COVID-19 cases in Cuttack district recently.
