Bhubaneswar: With a record 612 COVID19 patients recovering in a day, Odisha on Wednesday reached the milestone of 10,000 recoveries.

The total recovered cases now stand at 10,476.

As per the information shared by the State Health and Family Welfare Department, 270 patients have recovered from Ganjam, 84 from Sundargarh, 48 from Keonjhar, 35 from Gajapati, 31 from Balasore, 28 from Khurda, 25 from Nayagarh, 20 from Jajpur, 15 from Mayurbhanj, 10 each from Cuttack, Koraput and Jagatsinghpur, 6 each from Baragarh and Puri, 5 from Bolangir, 3 from Kendrapara, 2 each from Kalahandi & Kandhamal and one each from Rayagada and Sambalpur districts.

With the latest recoveries, the active coronavirus cases in the State have come down to 4,321.

Earlier in the day, Odisha registered a huge spike in COVID-19 cases with as many as 618 new positive cases taking the State’s overall tally to 14898. The State now accounts for 1.59 per cent of the total Covid-19 positive cases in India.
