Baripada: A police complaint has been filed against North Odisha University vice chancellor Pradeep Kumar Chand and registrar Pramod Satapathy for allegedly violating COVID19 guidelines.

According to sources, Chitteswar Behera, a first year student of the varsity, lodged the complaint at Baripada Town police station under Epidemic Act alleging the duo did not wear mask and maintain social distance while discussing with the agitating students.

Notably, students of the university are on strike since last four days demanding the waiver of readmission fees in view of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the university authorities have filed a complaint against students, who staged the protest in front of the main gate of the institute.

“The charges levelled against me are baseless. I was wearing a mask while discussing with the protesting students,” said Satapathy, registrar of the university.
