Woman, son killed in car mishap

Angul: A woman and her infant son were killed in a car mishap near Atharphutia under Thakurgarh police limits in the district today.

As per preliminary investigation, a woman, her husband and son were travelling in a car when the vehicle lost balance and fell into a roadside gorge.

While the woman and her child were killed on the spot, the man was critically injured and admitted to local hospital. They were identified as Dhiren Biswal (42), wife Manorama Biswal (28) and their son Ayush Biswal (2), residents of Tabeda village, who were on the way to Deulajhari.

Thakurgarh police reached the spot after getting information.

Meanwhile locals have staged road blockade at Atharphutia demanding compensation for family of the deceased.
