Bhubaneswar: After being the target of BJP in Odisha for his role as the technical advisor to the state government particularly in the wake of Ransomware attacks, Sam Pitroda has hit back at the saffron party through a series of tweets.
Coming down heavily on the allegations of the Odisha BJP, he tweeted, “At 75 with 50 years of experience, I do not need advice from you (BJP) on what and how to execute,” said Pitroda.
Regarding ransomware attacks, Pitroda stated in his message, ''cyber security related issues are serious matters world over and need domain experts. My role and responsibilities are clear and I take it seriously for the people of Odisha.''
Pitroda was earlier appointed technical advisor and was given the rank of a Cabinet minister this year.
“I agreed to help Odisha because of my love and respect for the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the people of State,” Pitroda added.
The BJP had demanded for Pitroda’s immediate removal owing his absence at a crucial time when some institutions in the state had witnessed WannaCry ransomware virus attacks.
"When the cyber attacks are taking place in Odisha and the whereabouts of the IT advisor Sam Pitroda is not known then what is the need of having him in the post",” BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma had earlier questioned in a press conference.
Pitroda also went on to add, ''To educate yourself (BJP) I recommend that you read my recent Biography Dreaming Big:My Journey2Connect India. I do not understand how One Rupee Salary is considered a hoax by you all. Does it mean that taking salary is not a hoax ?? At 75 nor do I need salary, titles, privilege and perks of any type. Titles do not matter to me.''
