Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday claimed that the ruling BJD’s exit from Odisha is certain. While addressing a public meeting at Ranpur, Singh said that there is a change in the atmosphere in Odisha and the people have made up their minds to bring the BJP to power here.
“Congress ruled Odisha for 50 years while BJD for 25 years. Now the atmosphere has changed in Odisha and it is time for BJD’s exit,” said Singh.
Singh said that the Congress and other parties are making baseless allegations against the BJP government at the Centre. While addressing a public meeting, Singh said that in independent India, MPs have been elected for 28 times.

“The democracy was not murdered then and now when BJP’s candidate wins unopposed in Surat then it is murder of democracy? Congress party has murdered democracy by imposing an emergency and has the highest record of toppling elected state governments in the country. Congress has a record of toppling governments 136 times in the country by using Article 356. Now they are alleging that BJP is murdering democracy,” alleged Singh.
One Nation, One Election
The BJP is going form government in Delhi and our target is 400 plus seats, said Rajnath Singh. According to Singh, BJP wants to save the resources of the nation and people’s time. Hence, the party has decided to implement ‘One Nation, One Election'and the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously so that people’s time and the country’s resources are saved.
“BJP has set a target to 400 seats in Lok Sabha. A lot of parties are misleading people by claiming that BJP would change the constitution. We want to clearly say that the opposition is making false allegations and rather Congress amended the Constitution around 80 times. Apart from this, in 1976 attempts were also made to change the soul of the Preamble. We want to clarify that there would be no change in the existing reservation,” Singh added.
