Cuttack: The district administration on Thursday cancelled the registration of Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangh, the organisation that has earned notoriety after its founder Sushil Dahalasamant was arrested by the Commissionerate police recently.
Informing this to the media, Additional District Collector Laxmidhar Mohanty said the administration took the action after the commissionerate police, during investigation, got information about illegal activities of the Yuvak Sangh. The DCP had recommended cancellation of the registration of the Sangh to the district administration, he said.
“Acting on the recommendation, the district administration had served a show cause notice to the Sangh. But as there was no reply from the Sangh, the administration put a notice board at its office. When there was no response from the Sangh even after this, the district administration cancelled its registration under Section 12(d) of the Society Registration Act, 1860 as it has deviated from its main objective,” Mohanty added.
Notably, the Sangh was set up in 2014 with Sushil Dhalasamant as its president.
Meanwhile, the Chauliaganj police interrogated Ratan Sinha, former secretary of Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangh for the second time on Thursday for his links with the Dhalasamant brothers.
