Cuttack: Senior BJD leader and Kendrpara MP Baijayant Panda on Wednesday reviewed the progress of construction work of the bulletproof museum at Mahanga block here.
According to sources, arrangements have been made at the museum to keep the relic of Lord Buddha recovered from the famous Buddhist site of Lalitgiri.
The Culture Ministry of the Central government has sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the construction work of the bulletproof museum, which has been estimated to cost Rs 9.5 crore.
Talking to newsmen after the reviewing the construction work, Panda said, “Since last one year, I have been trying for the construction work of the museum. I am visiting the construction site a number of times to view the progress of the work which was halted earlier.”
“The Central government has sanctioned Rs 2 crore this year and the work is in progress. I will try to get funding for the museum as soon as possible. Once the bulletproof museum is built over here, various infrastructural projects can be undertaken for the development of the area,” Panda added.
