Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi left for a two-day visit to New Delhi on Monday ahead of the Vice-Presidential election tomorrow.
Reports stated that the CM will be present for the voting process, and party sources indicated that his itinerary may also include internal meetings and organisational discussions with the BJP’s central leadership.
Notably, his visit comes just a day after Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal left for Delhi, signalling that this visit could pave the way for important decisions on the party’s political and governance front in Odisha.
Cabinet Expansion And Party Restructure Likely
The simultaneous presence of both leaders has sparked anticipation that announcements on the long-awaited cabinet reshuffle and state committee appointments may be imminent.
According to sources, discussions may focus on cabinet expansion, induction of new members into state-run boards and corporations, and a reshaping of the Odisha BJP organisation.
Samal had only recently returned from Delhi after meeting senior party leaders. At the time, he had dismissed speculation about delays, stating, “There is no delay in our work. Everything will happen openly, whether it is cabinet expansion or new team formation. Our government is running smoothly based on decisions already taken.”

Naveen Patnaik Also In Delhi
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik is also in Delhi to finalise his party’s stance on the Vice-Presidential election.
On Saturday, he had convened a meeting with BJD’s Parliamentary Party members at his Bhubaneswar residence to discuss the matter. Sources say he will hold consultations with MPs before announcing the party’s official position.
With Majhi and Samal representing the BJP in Delhi and Naveen leading BJD consultations at the same time, Odisha’s political landscape is abuzz with speculation.
