Bhubaneswar: Alleging deterioration of law and order situation in Odisha, the State BJP today launched a scathing attack on the BJD government saying the Kandhamal killing and attack on the Union ministers at Bargarh occurred due to failure of police and intelligence which come under the Home department.
Talking to mediapersons Basant Panda, BJP State president, said, “The law and order in the state has deteriorated which is evident from the Kandhamal killing. Besides, the promotion of Bargarh DSP, whose gross dereliction of duty was noticed in the attack on Union minister Santosh Gangwar in Bargarh, to the higher rank, speaks volume of the modus operandi of the state government which uses police in its party works. We condemn such actions with strong words.”
Commenting on the charges, Law minister Arun Sahoo, said, “To serve people of Odisha and make the State a successful one are the main objectives of the party. However, if any other political party cannot digest the idea, we have nothing to say.”
Meanwhile, BJP and Congress have announced to observe bandh in Kandhamal district tomorrow protesting the killing of six civilians by the security personnel during a crossfire with Maoists in the evening on Friday.
