Bhubaneswar: Bidyashree Das, wife of late motivational speaker and social activist Aditya Das, on Wednesday allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills.

She has been admitted to Cuttack SCB Hospital in a critical condition.

Bidyashree reportedly consumed 41 sleeping tablets and went live on Facebook stating she was suffering from depression as she has been blamed for her husband's death.

"I am being meted out with unbearable harrasment. I don't want to live any longer," teary-eyed Bidyashree said in her Facebook live video.

Pointing out a diary, she claimed to have written the names of all those who are to be held responsible for her death.

"I have already consumed 30 sleeping pills and am also eating more live in the social media platform so that no one would point fingers at my family and their role in my death," Bidyashree said in the video.

Bidyashree called out some names and blamed them for harrasing her every day.
"They are making videos by calling me every night and blaming me for my husband's death. However hard I try to forgive them and forget, it has become unbearably hard because of mental distress that I am being forced to live with," she said.

Bidyashree also expressed extreme disappointment on the delay in judicial proceedings and justice to her family and husband after his death.

Notably, the body of Aditya Dash was found on the railway tracks near Lingaraj Temple Station on July 7, 2020. However, friends and relatives of the social worker alleged foul play and conspiracy behind his death following which the Director General of Odisha Police on July 30 had ordered the State Crime Branch to take over the investigation.

Last month, the Crime Branch had submitted the status report on the investigation into the death of the social activist.
