Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch of Odisha Police probing the death of motivational speaker and social activist Aditya Dash interrogated his wife and parents again within a span of a couple of weeks.
A three-member team of the Crime Branch visited Aditya’s house and questioned his wife Bidyashree and his parents for several hours today, informed sources.
The probe team, however, refused to disclose details about the investigation. “The investigation is on right track. We cannot share details at this moment,” said an official of the team.
Asked about the polygraph test on a few persons linked to the case, the official said, “Any decision taken in this regard will be intimated.”
This is the second time the Crime Branch questioned the family members of Aditya. Earlier, on July 31 the probe agency had questioned Bidyashree and his parents for around four and a half hours. Besides, the Bhubaneswar Government Railway Police (GRP) which was earlier conducting the probe had questioned the family once.
Aditya’s mutilated body was found on railway tracks near Lingaraj Temple Road railway station in Bhubaneswar on July 7. Bhubaneswar GRP was investigating the case before it was handed over to the Crime Branch. However, the probe agency is yet to make headway in the case.
Recently, members of ‘People For Seva’ trust raised questions over Odisha Crime Branch’s alleged snail-pace investigation and demanded a CBI probe in the matter.
“We don’t have faith on Crime Branch’s probe anymore. The probe agency has been investigating the case since last 14 days, but has failed to find any evidence. So the case now should be handed over to the CBI,” Asish Das, a member of ‘People For Seva’ had said.
