Bhubaneswar: As a part of its investigation into the death of motivational speaker and social activist Aditya Dash, the Crime Branch of Odisha Police on Friday questioned his wife and other family members.

A three-member special team of the Crime Branch reached Aditya’s house in Sunderpada area of Bhubaneswar at around 3.30 PM and questioned his wife Bidyashree and his parents for around four and a half hours today.

The CB team reportedly questioned Bidyashree about the reported fight between the couple on the fateful day and why she had gone to her paternal house thereafter.

Earlier, the Crime Branch SP had visited the site where the body of Aditya was found. Aditya’s friends Bikash, Pappu and Pritam have also been questioned. The Crime Branch team also visited Bhubaneswar Government Railway Police station and collected documents related to the case.

On July 7, body of Aditya was found lying on railway tracks near Lingaraj Railway station. However, the circumstances leading to his death is still shrouded under mystery.

On July 30, Director General of Odisha Police ordered the State Crime Branch to take over the investigation from Government Railway Police.

The DGP’s order came a day after the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) sought an Action Taken Report (ATR) from Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Twin City Commissioner of Police in connection with the death of Aditya.

Acting on a complaint filed by the Supreme Court lawyer and social activist Radhakanta Tripathy, the NHRC has asked the Commissioner to submit a detailed report within four weeks.
