Extremely heavy downpour which has been battering Odisha since Sunday has triggered water logging, traffic snarls and other rain-related miseries in several parts of the State, including the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
Several houses have suffered extensive damage while trees and electric poles have been uprooted as the showers, accompanied by strong winds, played havoc in the State.

Scores of trees were reportedly uprooted in Bhubaneswar and Paradip, while vehicular traffic has been hit following the blocking of roads by severed branches which are lying scattered all over. Several motorists complained of poor visibility.
Pedestrians too faced difficulties as they wade through waterlogged streets and lanes in several low-lying areas in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
