Once again, excess heat and humid conditions have made lives miserable for people in different parts of Odisha. Boudh district recorded State's highest maximum temperature of 42.5 degree Celsius on Thursday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted that rain and thunderstorm activities will prevail in several parts of the State till June 1.
A yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning in the next 24 hours has also been issued for several districts of the State.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada,Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.05.2022)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha apart from Nuapada, Bargarh, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.05.2022)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha along with Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Gajapati.
Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 31.05.2022)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm has also been forecasted for one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.
Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.06.2022)
Moderate rain and thunderstorm alert has been issued for one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
