Red Warning for Odisha Districts
Odisha is all set to experience severe heat wave, heat wave, hot and humid and warm night conditions during March 16 to 19, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.
As per IMD, maximum temperature was markedly above normal by about 5-7 degree C at a many places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal by about 3-5 degree C at one or two places over the districts of Odisha, above normal by about 2-3 degree C at a many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha in the past 24 hours.
Several parts of Odisha are currently reeling under intense heat wave conditions for the past few days. There seems to be no respite as the IMD has issued ‘Red Warning’ for heat to severe heat wave conditions in coming days in the state.

Day-1 (16th March 2025)
Red Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at many places with severe heat wave condition very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh.
Orange Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Angul, Bolangir, Sundargarh. Hot and humid condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.
Day-2 (17th March 2025)
Red Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at many places with severe heat wave condition very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Kalahandi.
Orange Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Boudh, Bolangir.
Day-3 (18th March 2025)
Orange Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur.
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kalahandi.
