Several parts of Odisha will experience rain and thunderstorm activities till June 9, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

As per the latest weather bulletin issued by IMD, 12 districts of Odisha- Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Balasore are likely to witness thunderstorm and lightning activities in the next 24 hours.

The IMD has issued a yellow warning for these 12 districts. The southwest monsoon today has further advanced into remaining parts of south Arabian Sea, some parts of central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Lakshadweep and Kerala, most parts of Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, some parts of North Interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, some more parts of Tamil Nadu.

Similarly, the monsoon has also touched remaining parts of Southwest Bay of Bengal and some parts of West-central and some more parts of East-central Bay of Bengal.

According to IMD, there will be no large change in maximum temperature (Day temperature) over the districts of Odisha during the next 4-5 days.

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 04.06.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 05.06.2021): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Deogarh.

Yellow Warning(To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur,

Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Balasore.

Day 2 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 5.6.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 6.6.2021): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 3 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 6.6.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 7.6.2021): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 4 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 7.6.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 8.6.2021): Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 8.6.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 9.6.2021): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of North Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
