The Deep Depression (remnant of the cyclonic storm “Mandous” pronounced as “Man­Dous”) over north Tamil Nadu moved nearly west-southwestwards with a speed of nine kmph during past six hours and lay centred over north Tamil Nadu on Saturday.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the system is very likely to move nearly west-southwestwards and gradually weaken into a depression during the next six hours and gradually weaken into a well marked low pressure area during next 12 hours.

IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted light rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

“Light rainfall has occurred at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and Coastal Odisha and dry weather prevailed over the rest districts of Odisha,” said IMD.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.12.2022)

Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal , Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nuapada, Boudh, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.12.2022up to 0830 hrs IST of 12.12.2022)

Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.12.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.12.2022)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha. “There will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) over the districts of Odisha during the next 4 to 5 days,” said IMD.
