Deep depression, the remnant of cyclonic storm 'Mandous', now lies over north Tamil Nadu, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

The system is very likely to move nearly west-southwestwards and gradually weaken into a depression during the next six hours. The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall spell over north Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, south Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema today.

The intensity of rainfall will decrease gradually.

Rainfall Warning

December 10: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Rayalaseema, north Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka and heavy rainfall at isolated places over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

December 11: Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over north Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe.

December 12 and 13: Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Kerala & Mahe.

Wind Warning

December 10: Southwest Bay of Bengal and along & off Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts:- Squally wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph likely to prevail till noon and to reduce thereafter becoming 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph by December 10 evening.

December 12 and 13: Squally Weather with wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph likely to prevail over Lakshadweep area, Kerala-Karnataka coasts.
