IMD predicts heavy rainfall in 4 Odisha districts on Sept 27

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall activities in several parts of Odisha on September 27, 2022.

As per the latest weather forecast, the heavy rainfall warning has been issued for four districts of the state- Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Puri.

The IMD has also issued a ‘yellow warning’ for these districts in view of the heavy rainfall prediction.

“The trough from Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal to central parts of West Rajasthan now runs from Northwest Bay of Bengal to cyclonic circulation over Northwest Madhya Pradesh & neighbourhood across North Odisha, North Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh between 1.5 km & 4.5 km above mean sea level,” said IMD.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.09.2022)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Keonjhar ,Mayurbhanj,Angul ,Dhenkanal and Kandhamal.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 HRS IST of 24.09.2022 up to 0830 HRS IST of 25.09.2022)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha ,Keonjhar ,Mayurbhanj and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.09.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.09.2022) Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore ,Bhadrak ,Gajapati ,Ganjam and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
