Even as dry weather prevails over several districts of Odisha, the minimum (night) temperature observed appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of south interior pockets in the past 24 hours.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), the highest maximum temperature of 34.5˚C was recorded at Boudh and the lowest minimum temperature of 14.5°C was recorded at Phulbani.

The IMD has also issued an alert for shallow to moderate fog in several parts of the state in the next 24 hours.

Fog alert

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 08.11.2022) Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur in early morning at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Cuttack, Khordha, Jagatsingpur, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.11.2022 up to 0830hrsIST of 09.11.2022) Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur in the early morning at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsingpur, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal.

As per IMD, a low pressure area is likely to form over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast around November 9, 2022. It is very likely to move northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts with possible slight intensification during subsequent 48 hours, predicted IMD.
