Heat wave alert in Odisha
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a rise in temperature across Odisha by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above average, potentially reaching 40 degrees Celsius. As per IMD reports, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next five days.
Similarly, the minimum temperature (night temperature) is also very likely to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next 4-5 days over the districts of the state.
After this five-day period, residents should prepare for a significant rise in temperature, marking the beginning of another phase of extreme heat conditions. There is every possibility of the mercury soaring to a 40-degree Celsius mark, suggesting intensification of heatwave conditions.
Throughout the next week, the state will predominantly experience dry weather conditions. Following the initial steady phase, temperatures are predicted to climb again, making it crucial for locals to brace for more scorching days ahead.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and avoid exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours.
