Temperature soars in Odisha districts
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted a rise in maximum temperature in Odisha. This is likely to compound the problems of the people in the state, as already there has been a sudden rise in the day temperature in different pockets for the last couple of days.
As per the latest IMD forecast, the maximum temperature is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees C during the next three days and no large change is expected thereafter. The only respite is the fact that there will be no major change in the minimum temperature during the same period and fall by 2 to 3 degrees in the subsequent two days.
Sources said that Sambalpur recorded a maximum temperature of 37 degrees, followed by 36.4 degrees in Jharsuguda and 36.2 degrees in Hirakud by 2:30 pm today.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 04.03.2025): The maximum temperature is very likely to be above normal by 2-3 degree C in the districts of Puri, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Boudh.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.03.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 05.03.2025): The maximum temperature is very likely to be above normal by 2-3 degree C in the districts of Puri, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Boudh.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.03.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 06.03.2025): The maximum temperature is very likely to be above normal by 2-3 oC in the districts of Puri, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Boudh.
