Predictions by IMD regional centre head

“The Maximum temperature in most parts of Odisha could remain above normal during March, April, and May. However, in the Western Odisha, particularly in Bolangir, Bargarh, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh, the probability of heat is more,” the IMD regional centre head Manorama Mohanty said to OTV.

“On an average, heatwave conditions will persist across Odisha for about a week during this season,” the IMD regional centre head further said.

Ongoing rise in temperature signifies an unusually protracted summer, with heat typically lasting four to five days in March now potentially extending up to a week or longer.
