Gusty surface wind reaching up to 50 kmph likely along north Odisha coast: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts strong gusty winds, reaching 40-50 kmph, along the North Odisha coast from May 6 to May 8. Fishermen are advised to avoid the sea during this period. A rise in thunderstorm activities may lower temperatures by 3-5 degrees.

Strong gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40 to 50 kmph is likely along and off the North Odisha coast from May 6 to May 8, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

Hence, the IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off the North Odisha coast during the same period.

In its latest weather forecast, the IMD has predicted a change in weather conditions in Odisha with a rise in thunderstorm activities. The thunderstorm activities are likely to bring the temperature down by 3 to 5 degrees in Odisha.
