Dense fog engulfs Bhubaneswar
Dense fog will continue to shroud Odisha as the regional meteorological centre forecasts continued misty conditions for coastal and interior areas across the state.
A yellow alert has been issued for the next 24 hours across 14 districts, including Sundargarh, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi.
The meteorological department has also issued a yellow alert for tomorrow i.e. January 28 warning of dense fog in districts like Kendrapara, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal. Reports indicate that visibility could drop below 50 metres in these areas, with some regions potentially experiencing zero visibility.
Weather scientist Sanjeev Dwivedi informed that no signification weather system lied over Odisha and advised halting vehicles on ghat roads and in accident-prone zones.
“The current atmospheric conditions, which are bringing in substantial moisture, are attributed to the increased fog density. The increased fog is attributed to a large influx of moisture-laden air flowing into the state,” Dwivedi stated.
While the state is predicted to remain mostly dry over the next week, no significant temperature changes are expected. However, some districts might observe a slight rise in daytime temperatures.
