IMD predicts a 2-3°C rise in minimum temperatures in Odisha, signaling warmer nights. A yellow warning for dense fog has been issued for several districts over the next few days.

The minimum temperature (night temperature) is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees C during the next two days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha informed India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

The forecast is an indication that people in Odisha will soon have to throw away their jackets and other woollen garments. Already, there has been a significant rise in the day or maximum temperature in different parts of Odisha with Koraput on Thursday recording the highest maximum temperature of above 33 degrees C.

As per IMD, dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha. Apart from this, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours in several districts of the state. A yellow warning for dense fog has also been issued for the next couple of days.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Angul, Koraput.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.01.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.01.2025)

Yellow Warning:  Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh.
