  • IMD has issued rain and thunderstorm warning for several Odisha districts in next 24 hours.

A cyclonic circulation lies over north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.

As per IMD, a trough runs from the above cyclonic circulation over north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 1.5 km above mean sea level.

The north-south trough from northeast Bihar to south coastal Odisha across northeast Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal above mean sea level has merged with the above system.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj in the next 24 hours, said IMD.

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 05.07.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 06.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated):Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurdha, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 07.07.2021)

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 08.07.2021)

Yellow Warning: (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Malkangiri and Jagatsinghpur.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Kandhamal.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 09.07.2021)
