Bhubaneswar: With the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Yaas weakening into a severe category after ripping through the north-coast of Odisha upon making landfall between north of Dhamra and south of Balasore , disaster management troops engaged in the storm battle have launched rescue and restoration operations on a war-footing.

Anticipating widespread damage and massive evacuation exercises, the Odisha government had mobilized 60 ODRAF, 52 NDRF and over 200 fire fighting teams in rescue and restoration operations in several districts in north, north-coastal and adjoining districts.

NDRF teams have showcased excellent resilience in demonstrating their courageous disaster management expertise before and during the cyclone Yaas. Similarly, Odisha's premier disaster management forces, the ODRAF and the Fire Services department have also left no stone unturned in coming to the rescue of people affected.
