The state capital of Odisha witnessed season’s first fog while visibility dropped to 100 m in the city on Monday morning affecting vehicular movement in the city.

Briefing media about the weather update, Uma Shankar Das, Scientist IMD hubaneswar said, “The condition is favourable for the formation of fog as the sky is remaining clear and the amount of water vapour has increased.”

“The rainfall activities in the state has come down which indicates the withdrawal of Monsoon. The cyclonic circulation over the south western Bay of Bengal is still active,” Das informed.

Besides, the condition in the State is favourable for the onset of winter, the weather office predicted.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Boudh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal , Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara
