Bhubaneswar boils, Odisha to get 2-4 degrees hotter, says IMD

The entire Odisha is reeling under scorching heat and by Tuesday afternoon (2:30 PM), Bhubaneswar was on the boil by becoming the state's hottest place.

Including Bhubaneswar, six cities recorded temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius and above. 

Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum 41.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Chandbali (41.6 degrees Celsius), Jharsuguda (41.4 degrees Celsius), Balasore (40.5 degrees Celsius), Sambalpur (40.3 degrees Celsius), Keonjhar (40 degrees Celsius).

The IMD warned that the day temperature is very likely to increase by 2-4 degrees Celsius at many places during the next three days. 

“Maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 3 days and no large change is expected thereafter,” said IMD.
