19 Odisha Districts To Experience Thunderstorm, Lightning In The Next 24 Hours, Says IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a thunderstorm and lightning alert for several districts in Odisha.

As per IMD, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Jajpur in the next 24 hours.

A Yellow warning for these districts has been issued by the IMD.

The regional meteorological centre today said that the South West Monsoon has been subdued over Odisha. However, several parts are currently witnessing rain and thunderstorm activities for the past couple of days.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 10.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 11.08.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi,Kandhamal, Boudh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Jajpur.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 12.08.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and Rayagada.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.08.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 13.08.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur
