Youth molests woman in broad daylight on hospital campus, police begin probe after video goes viral

The rising rate of crime against women is a serious concern. Every day, incidents of assault, molestation, harassment, violence, torture and rape of women are being reported. Though stricter laws have been framed, the incidents are yet to come down.

Recently, one such incident came to the fore where a youth was seen grabbing an unknown woman from behind and fleeing after kissing her forcibly.

The outrageous incident was reportedly captured on a CCTV camera installed in a hospital campus in Jamui, Bihar. As seen in the video, a woman is engaged in a conversation over mobile phone. Suddenly, a youth approaches from behind. Before the woman could realise anything, the youth grabs her neck from behind and turns to the front. He starts kissing her forcibly by holding her tight. 

Though the woman tries to resist him, the youth grabs her firmly without giving her any chance to get free. After a while, the youth flees from the spot leaving the woman in shock. 

As claimed by local media reports, the youth is habitually on the prowl and kisses unknown girls and women after finding them alone. 

Narrating the ordeal, the victim, who works at the hospital said, “I walked out of the washroom and was talking over the phone. Suddenly, someone jumped from behind and grabbed me. He put his mouth on mine and didn’t leave after which I started dodging. I can’t understand, for what reason he came and why he did this. Even I can’t say if he has any enmity with me or not. I even don’t know him.”

Further, she went on to add, “Anyhow I resisted and pushed him back with all my energy. My staff rushed towards the spot as soon as I started yelling. By then, he had fled the spot. I have filed a complaint against him and I request the administration to take necessary actions as required.”

Following the FIR, Police have launched a manhunt to nab the youth and take necessary action.

“We are investigating the matter based on the CCTV footage and will soon nab the culprit,” said Rakesh Kumar, DSP, Jamui.
