Pet dog saves owner from bear in Canada, watch viral video

A pint-sized Pomeranian in Canada is winning hearts online after chasing away a black bear nearly ten times his size from his owner’s home.

The viral video, shared on X, begins with indoor camera footage showing a large black bear strolling casually through an open door. Moments later, loud barks ring out, and the startled bear bolts for the exit.

Just seconds behind, the unexpected hero appears: a fluffy brown Pomeranian named Scout. As Scout races after the intruder, his owner can be heard calling, “Scout, come here!” while hurrying after him.

Switching to outdoor security footage, the clip shows the fearless little dog charging after the fleeing bear, barking relentlessly until the predator disappears from view.

Scout’s owner, Kayla Kleine, says the six-pound pup may look cuddly, but he has a fiery side when it comes to protecting his family. “He’s very affectionate, but also really protective,” she explained. That protective streak was in full force when Scout confronted the massive bear without hesitation.

The reason for Scout’s outrage may have been personal, Kleine revealed the bear had helped itself to the dog’s breakfast.

“I was shocked, but I know how fierce he can get when he’s mad. I could totally see him going full speed at the bear,” she said.
