A disturbing video of ‘golgappa’ vendors kneading dough of the popular street food with their bare feet has sparked outrage online. The video which has gone viral on social media platforms shows two men kneading the dough with their feet.

However, the tragedy does not end there. The accused duo have admitted to mixing urea fertilizer and toilet cleaner Harpic to ‘enhance’ the taste of the golgappas. According to sources, the incident has been reported from Nagar Panchayat market in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district.

Irate locals gheraoed the two vendors and handed them over to the police. During interrogation, the two admitted to using harmful chemicals in their food preparation. The two have been identified as Arvind Yadav and his associate Satish Kumar Srivastava.

The two hail from Uttar Pradesh. The matter came to the fore after a relative of one of the accused recorded the video and shared it online.

“I remember myself a South Indian was recommended golgappa by many North Indian colleagues, they even flexed it like a proud food culture. Sad to see this,” shared a user.

Another user wrote, “Nothing new in India feet always the tools they use in preparing food, this is everywhere in India.”

“Taste and trust is broken 😭💔. They are making our future generation sick and impotent.  This is a National threat,” shared another user.
