Monkeys turn saviour for 6-year-old, foil rape attempt with sudden attack

The intervention of a troop of monkeys, reportedly, saved a 6-year-old girl, a UKG student, from an attempted rape in Daula village in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat. The monkeys turned saviour for the little girl by launching a sudden attack and foiling the man's bid to rape her. Following her parents' complaint, the unidentified accused was charged under the Pocso Act and is currently on the run, according to police.

As claimed by the girl's parents, the accused lured their daughter to an abandoned house on Saturday. He undressed the girl and was attempting to rape her. However, suddenly a troop of monkeys aggressively rushed towards him. The sudden attack of the primates forced the man to leave the minor girl and flee.

After returning home, the traumatised child narrated her ordeal to her family members. She recounted how the troop of monkeys saved her from the accused.

Times of India quoted the minor's father as saying, My daughter was playing outside when the accused took her away. The man could be seen in nearby CCTV footage, walking on a narrow lane with my daughter. He is yet to be identified though. He also threatened my child that he would kill me... My daughter would have been dead by now if the monkeys had not intervened."

Baghpat Circle officer Harish Bhadoria told TOI, "We've heard about the incident involving monkeys and are investigating the matter."
