Impersonating police officers is a criminal offence and is punishable. Multiple incidents of people impersonating cops are reported from across the country. Either to extort money, to threaten others or carry out various serious crimes by misusing the power of uniforms, the imposters use fake uniforms, ID cards and/or police vehicles. They even trick their targets through phone calls by threatening them with false cases. However, recently a video surfaced on social media in which an 18-year-old boy was caught impersonating an IPS officer. He was welcomed at the police station by the cops and what happens next is surprising.

In the video, the young boy can be seen in an IPS uniform standing with several other cops outside the police station. He is welcomed inside the PS by someone who says, "Come in sir."

"You are most welcome to Sikariya Police Station."

The boy enters the police station with a smile and the cops escort him inside.

As claimed by the cops in the video, locals reported that the boy was roaming in the uniform after which a Sub Inspector caught him and brought him to the police station.

Next, the cops are seen examining the uniform of the boy.

As the boy claims, a person named Manoj Sinha offered him the IPS job and gave him the uniform for Rs 2 lakh.

The boy identified as Mithilesh Kumar, hails from Gobardhana Village under Halsi Police limits.

In the video, the boy is seen identifying himself. He further adds that the person Manoj Sinha offered him the job for Rs 2 lakh. The boy gave Rs 2 lakh a month back to Manoj and got his uniform in Khaira Village on the day he (Mithilesh) was detained.

The video shared on social media has gone viral.

While the authenticity behind the claims made by the boy couldn't be verified, it is indeed a serious offence. Soon after the video clip went viral on social media, netizens flooded the comments section with varying reactions.
