Apple launched iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max in its September event and both of them look to be standout releases, with features and improvements that put them leagues ahead of Apple's other phones. The most significant one being dynamic island- a pill shaped cutout with various utilities.

DESIGN: The pro models closely resemble their predecessors. Infact when in hand you won't be able to tell the difference. Also, the camera bump is bigger. The overall look is elegant and a bit familiar, with the same IP68 water resistance.

DISPLAY: Coming to display, the first noticeable change is the dynamic island, a clever addition indeed. Apple found a way to make this area more useful. It acts like a mini dashboard. It's designed in a way for other apps to take advantage of it. For example, you can see status of your timer, next direction on maps, status of calls and much more. Apple also launched always-on displays but it is different from what we have seen on android devices. The refresh rates can go all the way down to 1 Hz.

The Super Retina XDR display in both the devices is amazingly bright and vivid. The panel is rated for upto 1,600 nits of brightness with HDR content and 2,000 nits outdoors in bright sunlight. Display also comes with ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates upto 120 Hz.

CAMERA: For the first time, Apple has introduced 48MP main wide sensor on its devices. All three camera lenses on the back are larger, as is the flash, so this area takes up a lot of room. Bigger sensors provide better photos. The 48MP camera also enables a new 2x zoom option that joins the 12MP 3x telephoto zoom lens. Also, there are two major upgrades in videography - the first being action mode and the second being 4K resolution in cinema mode. With these features, video quality turned out to be stellar.

PERFORMANCE: The Pro models are powered by A16 Bionic, which is Apple’s first chip built using the 4-nanometer process and is also the fastest chip in a phone. The CPU is stated to be 10% faster than its predecessor. It handles heavy workload with ease. The new software features SOS and crash detection will also be available on these devices. The speakers are well balanced, producing loud and clear sounds.

The starting price of iPhone 14 pro in India is Rs 1,29,900 while iPhone 14 pro max starts at Rs 1,39,900.
