Apple in its latest event introduced a series of products to its hardware line-up. The newly-introduced devices include four new variants of iPhone-14, the all new Apple watch ultra and two other additions to its smart watch roster and the updated AirPods Pro.

There were usual upgrades in the lower models (Apple 14 and 14 Plus) like improved cameras, better sensors for low light photography, better display and better battery life. However, the processor in these models will be the same A15 Bionic chip which was previously seen in the iPhone 13 line-up except for an improved GPU.

The biggest surprises of the day were the pro line-up namely iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. There has been a significant improvement in the camera setup with Apple introducing a 48MP main shooter. Both models are powered by the new A16 Bionic chip, which is a major performance booster. The chip is based on 4 nm tech and has 6 GPU cores. There’s no notch! Yes, a new pill-shaped black space or as apple likes to call it ‘DYNAMIC ISLAND’ was introduced.  The new feature incorporates animations and notifications in a redefined manner.

The common camera features across the newcomers would be the introduction of Autofocus in the front cameras.

Apple took a big leap towards better connectivity in its newer models. With the all new satellite connectivity, an individual will be able to send SOS even if there’s no WiFi or cellular connectivity! Previously, all of this was possible by using notoriously big antenna phones which are pretty costly. Another new feature is the ‘crash detection’ which spontaneously sends messages to emergency services if it detects any crash.

Apart from smartphones, Apple also announced a slew of apple watches. Of these, Apple watch ultra happens to be the most expensive as well as tech intensive product in the entire line-up. Starting from durability to battery life, everything has been up a notch. The battery lasts up to 60 hours. The watch is also equipped with the crash detection feature. Like previous launches, the new Apple Watch SE sacrifices major features which are available on the mainstream models.

The updated airpods pro 2 have the new H2 chipset in them which enables twice as noise cancellation unlike its predecessor.

In India, iPhone 14 starts at Rs 79,900 and 14 plus will start at Rs 89,900. The upper variants i.e. Pro will start at Rs 1,29,900 while pro max starts at Rs 1,39,900.
