Back in October 2020, Samsung had launched a smartphone which unlike other devices is still relevant in this dynamic market. Initially launched in 4G with exynos processor, the Galaxy S20 FE was later redesigned for 5G support with a snapdragon processor. It’s been more than a year since, is it still worth the money? Let’s find out.

In the sub 40k category i.e. the upper mid-range, the Galaxy S20 FE offers some flagship kind features which are currently available in Samsung’s flagship devices. It comes with a snapdragon 865 processor which might be a bit old but gives reliable flagship level performance. Heavy duty games can be easily played with high quality graphics. It has a 6.5inch long super AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate. It has a tri-camera set up of 12MP main, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle, and another 8MP telephoto sensor which delivers excellent results. Whether it’s out in broad daylight or in the night, the snaps are incredibly balanced with impressive details and sharpness.

Videos shot in 1080p and 4K turned out to be fairly good. It has 30x space zoom which is unique and adds to its value. The phone runs on Samsung’s One UI which has been constantly better over time.

S2O FE comes with a mega battery of 4500 mAh which is larger than its predecessor. The battery performance is fairly decent. It supports fast charging upto 25w but we get a 15w charger in the box. It takes the phone roughly an hour and a half to reach its full capacity. It also supports reverse charging and wireless charging.

It has a IP68 rating which means one doesn’t have to worry when it falls into water. This is pretty rare at this price point and is only available on flagship devices. The phone supports 9 bands of 5G in India (lacks the high frequency band of n77).

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is a great phone with no visible drawback. It is currently available in Amazon for all time low cost of Rs 34,990. FE in the name stands for Fan Edition but it is more like lower flagship edition. The phone stands out from the crowded mid-range market. It gives solid performance to its competitors with some unique set of features like vibrant display, wireless charging, space zoom and IP68 rating. It ticks every available right box. If you’re looking for an amazing device with flagship features at low cost from a tested brand like Samsung, this might be the one for you.
