Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal, a rising star in Indian cricket, has made a u-turn and reversed his earlier decision to leave the Mumbai domestic cricket team.
The 21-year-old batsman has requested the Mumbai Cricket Association to play for Mumbai in the 2025–26 season, following a month of speculation about his possible move to Goa.
Initially, Jaiswal had requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to join Goa, who were eager to have him lead their side in the Ranji Trophy's Elite Division following their successful promotion.
In an email addressed to the MCA, Jaiswal cited changes in his family's plans to relocate to Goa as the reason for his reconsideration. He confirmed that he never submitted the NOC request to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or the Goa Cricket Association.
However, MCA has not yet taken any decision about Jaiswal's request.
A month ago, Jaiswal had shared, "Goa offered me a fresh opportunity with a leadership position. My main aim is to excel for India, and during times without national commitments, I intended to play for Goa to aid their progress in the tournament. This was an opportunity I did not want to miss."
Had Jaiswal transferred to Goa, he would have joined the ranks of other Mumbai cricketers such as Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad who have made similar transitions.

Consequently, Jaiswal was left out of Mumbai's forthcoming domestic plans and missed the opportunity to participate in the Mumbai T20 League, which features prominent players like Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Ajinkya Rahane.
The left-handed opener has strong roots in Mumbai cricket, having earned his place in the senior team through outstanding junior-level performances. This trajectory saw him secure an Indian Premier League (IPL) contract with Rajasthan Royals and eventually break into the national team.
