After IPL 2025, another Indian tournament likely to be suspended amid Operation Sindoor

Concern has been raised about the fate of the T20 Mumbai League amid the suspension of IPL 2025.

T20 Mumbai Tournament

BCCI has already suspended IPL 2025 for a week amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, it has been learnt that Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is also likely to suspend the upcoming T20 Mumbai tournament amid the development.

Notably, the Mumbai Cricket Association is set to host the third season of the Mumbai League from May 26 to June 5. As many as eight teams including two new franchises will participate in this year's edition. The matches are scheduled to be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The tournament will have a star-studded lineup of players.

However, concern has been raised about the fate of the T20 Mumbai League amid the suspension of IPL 2025. Amid the escalating tension between India and Pakistan, it is very much unlikely that Mumbai Cricket Association will be able to go ahead with the tournament, which is scheduled to begin on May 26.

Icon players in fray

Star players like Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav are among the six icon players who have been included in the tournament.

While Shreyas Iyer has been named as the icon player for SoBo Mumbai Falcons, Suryakumar Yadav will represent Triumph Knights Mumbai North East in the local league.

The other icon players in the tournament include Shivam Dube, Tushar Deshpande, Shardul Thakur and Ajinkya Rahane.
