Fans across the globe often draw comparison between star India batsman Virat Kohli and Pakistan’s great batter Babar Azam.
While both the batters are greats at their own spaces, different experts have their own ideas about both the cricketers, making it a trending debate on social media.
Recently, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar was asked the same question by former India spinner Harbhajan Singh. Responding to the question, Akhtar didn’t take the diplomatic route and his answer was pretty straight forward.
“Virat Kohli is the greatest, and Babar Azam is in the making to be the greatest batsman ever. He is trying to get better in T20s. People are behind him for no reason,” said the Rawalpindi Express.
Echoing similar views, the former Indian off-spinner said, “Virat Kohli has established himself as a great batsman, while Babar still has a lot to do. He will reach there someday as he is a wonderful player. He is very good in Test cricket, but maybe T20 doesn’t suit him a lot.”
Despite being arch-rivals on cricket field, both Harbhajan and Akhtar share a great camaraderie off the field. Both were great bowlers for their respective teams. After taking retirement from the game, both of them are working as cricket experts for different cricket teams.
