May it be men or women’s, Indian cricket often produces sensational talents that the world watches in awe. Pratika Rawal is the latest addition to the list.
The 24-year-old aggressive cricketer achieved her first ODI century with a remarkable 154 runs off just 129 balls, with the help of 20 boundaries and one six in the third and final one-day international against Ireland at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Wednesday. This is the fourth-highest score for an ODI debut.
In the process, Pratika also achieved a new feat. She set a new world record for the most runs scored in a player’s first six innings in women’s ODIs, garnering a total of 444 runs. Her scores of 40, 76, 18, 89, 67, and 154 surpassed the previous record held by former England captain Charlotte Edwards. Charlotte had scored 434 runs in her first six ODIs.

After Pratika’s scintillating performances, cricket fans all throughout the world have taken notice of her incredible talent and are in awe of her extraordinary skills on the pitch.
Reflecting about her performance, Pratika revealed that her passion for psychology influenced her cricket career as well.
“I wanted to study about that (human mind) and when I started studying about it, I was very keen on understanding how we mentally process (things) on the field and off the field. And, it has helped me a lot in cricket as well,” said Pratika the video of which has been shared by BCCI on its social media account X (earlier known as Twitter).
