IPL 2025: Star players who can still play in the mega event despite being unsold

Unsold stars Shardul Thakur, Mayank Agarwal, and Prithvi Shaw may join IPL 2025 if injuries arise in teams like Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings.

Many talented and experienced players have remained unsold in the recently concluded mega auction of IPL 2025. However, they can still get a chance to play in the upcoming edition of the mega event if any player from the 10 teams gets injured or is unavailable for any reason. Under such circumstance, some teams may opt these three star players. 

Though pace bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur with his base price at Rs two crore was not sold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, he could still make an entry into the upcoming season. Shardul may play for Mumbai Indians. Deepak Chahar has been struggling with injuries for the past few seasons and if he gets injured, Shardul could be included in the team in his place.

Former India opener Mayank Agarwal with his base price of Rs 1 crore also remained unsold in the recently-concluded mega auction. However, there is a chance that he could still be included in Punjab Kings team. Prabhsimran Singh is Punjab’s only available Indian opener. If any batsman gets injured, Mayank could be included in the team.

Similarly, Team India discard and explosive opener Prithvi Shaw (base price of Rs 75 lakh) was also remained unsold. There is a chance that he might be included in Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). LSG have currently one Indian opener. In case of any injury, Shaw could be included in the team.
