Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill
Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by eight wickets in a match of IPL 2025 on Thursday. However, the win was overshadowed by a post from GT captain Shubman Gill after the completion of the match.
Gill's cryptic post on social media account X (earlier known as Twitter), raised questions whether there is any tension brewing between Gill and Kohli? Speculation is also rife whether Gill took a dig at RCB fans.
"Eyes on the game, not the noise," tweeted Gill.

Several fans are interpreting it as a reference to the loud RCB crowd at Chinnaswamy or Kohli’s passionate reaction to Gill's wicket.
Many fans have reacted sharply to Gill's post.
"Was this needed from a player like you ? Have anyone mocked you ? Did crowd booed you or your team ? The crowd was just behind their team and we will forever do that . I like you as a batsman but today you lose some respect from my side @ShubmanGill," replied a fan.

"Bro no hate to you , but you are the most Overrated player of this Country ," wrote another fan.
"Mocking Chinnaswamy crowd ? Or Virat Kohli?" asked a third user.
In response to the development, many fans are also of the opinion that Kohli's fiery celebrations are nothing new - his intensity on the field has always been part of his game. Reading too much into it could be an overreach.
