T20 leagues across the globe have been loaded in favour of the batters. Cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) is also no exception.
During the match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 27, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) posted the highest score of the tournament. After being invited to bat first, SRH scored 277 for three in the stipulated 20 overs.
The bowlers struggled on a flat track. Taking advantage of the situation, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma went on a rampage. Head, playing his first IPL game, whacked 62 runs off 24 deliveries including nine fours and three sixes. His partner was equally impressive, notching up 63 off 23 deliveries including seven sixes and three fours.
The actual acceleration came from Heinrich Klaasen, who struck an unbeaten 80 off 34 balls, laced with seven sixes and four fours. Former captain Aiden Markram was unbeaten on 42 off 28 including two fours and a sixer.
However, it didn’t go down well with former Pakistan pacer Junaid Khan. He mocked and questioned the quality of the best T20 league in the world.
Junaid, who was one of the best left-arm pacers during his playing days, took to social media account X (earlier known as Twitter) to make fun of the IPL.

“Flat pitches, small boundaries, quick outfield. This is called IPL A target of 278,” tweeted Junaid.
